I had previously thought that that phrase on the US currency was put on there in the nineteen-fifties (1954) to scare the godless commies with the power of the Lord.
For fathers, they're not very "fore". |

Only on various coins here and there. It got the Congressional green light at about the same time as the pledge and motto got defiled. If you want to see some untainted currency, go look on ebay. I picked up a few singles and a pair of 5 spots without the offending words.
