So this is my occasional Public Service Announcement:

Send an e-mail to all of your friends, carefully picking a time when no one has sent you a hoax recently so that you can avoid pointing fingers at anyone, and say

"Hey look at this latest thing at www.snopes.com ! It's on the space shuttle http://www.snopes.com/photos/shuttle2.asp . I like to go there every now and then to see what's new in the e-mail stuff getting sent around. And check this out! Someone is claiming to have pictures of the Shuttle. Snopes does a nice piece on figuring out the source. Sometimes I like to do a search on a topic to see what comes up. A search on 'Columbia' came up with quite a few hoaxes. An interesting read."

This is good advice! I'd never heard of snopes before I came to this board, and now I'm constantly amazed at how much crap people try to pull off. Snopes is always right there with the real scoop on what's real and what's fake. Plus this is better to send to people than some of the real scathing anti-spam emails that are also floating around (that some people take real offense to).
