In an essay headed "Who Says Jews Control Hollywood?" published in the February/March 1995 issue of Midstream magazine, Steven G. Kellman, a professor at the University of Texas in San Antonio, wrote: "Boosters and antisemites agree: Jews have been prominent and predominant in all phases of the [motion picture] business: production, distribution and exhibition." He noted that, at the time, "Of the 100 most powerful people in the industry according to a recent survey by Premiere, most, including the top 12, are Jewish," but observed, "Though individual Jews control Hollywood, Jewishness does not." In fact, Hollywood studios are publicly owned corporations and motion pictures are made by the efforts of individual men and women, some of whom are Jewish, many of whom are not.

While statistics and studies on the subject are not readily available, the Anti-Defamation League believes that the recitation of numbers and percentages is not the answer to the false charges of Jewish "control" of the motion picture industry, or, indeed, of similar accusations involving the media, banking, finance and other businesses. Reliance on statistics alone plays into the hands of anti-Semites. Generally, Jews involve themselves in non-religious and non-political activity as individuals, not as Jews. ADL takes the position that the number of Jews involved in a particular field bears no relationship to "Jewish power" or "Jewish control" of that industry. ADL does not accept the notion that Jews in any field act in concert with other Jews similarly situated simply because they happen to be Jewish. To believe otherwise is to accept a conspiracy theory that is the anti-Semites' stock-in-trade and relegates Jews to a kind of second-class citizenship.

In other words, American Jews have as much right as any other citizens of the United States to work in the motion picture business, in the entertainment industry, and in any other legitimate businesses. Moreover, it bears repeating that those Jews who involve themselves in the motion picture industry do so as individuals, not as representatives of their religious group or with an aim to act in some coordinated conspiratorial manner.

So they get a pass and we are told that they only do their jobs as individuals only, to ignore the statistics. Where is the affirmative action for non jews? I think that the long, long period of time that jews have had as being marginalized would definitely make them operate better together than the goyim. Think of it this way, as white non-jews lose there current poulation advantage in the US they will at the same time have the normal race segregating/protecting impulses shamed and beaten out of them.

My grandfather just retired as a stockbroker and for a very long time he had a Jewish partner named Mort. Whenver he had a jewish client came in they would never ever let my Grandfather be their broker, some would even say "I want the Jew."

I have a few times with my Jewish friend Damon when I was back east and when we went to the local Jewish run stores he always got things at about half price. I mean, I would always pay full price at my friends store so I could help them out, but it is just a different culture. But if you have lived for centuries as a small minority this kind of favoritism is absolutely essential and deeply ingrained. Frankly, I am jealous!

Like, I am sure, Al Sharpton is. Remember when he tried to get blacks to buy only from blacks. But as they say, you can bring a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. (Ok, I know that blacks got their stores and neighborhoods jacked in the 20s and 30s by racist policies, very heinous the NY version of Jim Crow).

Also, about my previous post, all I was talking about how a paranoid person such as nixon would interpret certain imbalances and exaggerate them, I wasn't saying that these exaggerations were true.

I see your point of trying to explore some big issues here and it is out of the scope of this topic. America is a nation built on ethnic groups taking care of themselves as best they can. The dominant group were the WASPS from day one and every other group has had to fight it out with them and with everyother group. It is human nature, US history and probably deserves a topic in Miscellaneous Discussions.

The issue of Nixon and Graham mouthing off about Jews gets my goat because of Graham's presense. I knew that jerk hung around the WHite House back then, but why? Why was a two-bit evangelist, who was not only prejudiced against Jews, but also catholics, blacks, hispanics and the entire six state area of New England,(he called it "The Wasteland") allowed access to Presidents? This clown hung around like a horny groupie with many presidents and fed them his ignorant fundy views. Clinton, of all people, consulted him after he was caught with Monica!
It is not Nixon that upsets me, he was a lower-middle class kind of guy and you knew what to expect. It is Graham. Why on earth was this clown minister hanging around all the time? Someday it must come out.
