I've wondered about people's eye colors. My eyes are dark brown, the color of chocolate. I'm not too keen on my eye color in fact when I was younger I used to hate my eyes. To me, it seemed that brown was boring and too common. I thought that in additional to my Italian looks, having blue or violet eyes would be absolutely exotic. My father have blue eyes but since it's a recessive trait, hence no blue eyes for me.
Now as I got older, people tell me that true brown eyes are rare. That has me rather puzzled, what the heck constitutes "true brown eyes"? ![]() Anyway, pick your favorite eye color and make any comments if you want to. |

I used to have blue eyes, and now they change.
For some reason, I love grey eyes... |

Brown eyes are rare??? I would think that with all the brown-eyed people in Africa and South America that a significant portion of the world's population, say 20% are in fact brown-eyed. If my supposition is true, that would be far from rare.

I picked green eyes, but that is because they are most commonly possessed by red-haired women, whom I am noticeably powerless against.

I'm w/Cynical and I have to go w/grey. Black would be my next choice followed by green then probably yellow.

They meant that most eyes that appear brown have flecks of green or gold in them. My eyes look brown, but are really a dark greenish with brown and gold when you get close. My niece has dark chocolate eyes like yours...her mother has lighter almost amber/gold brown and I have a friend whose eyes are almost orangey/brown
I love really green eyes, but they are rare. Hubby has blue/green that changes. |

I'm partial to blue eyes. But my entire family has them (all my great grandparens, grandparents aunts uncles cousins...My own kids)
The only ones that don't have blue eyes are the ones that married into the familly Like my Husband (hazel) and my BIL who has deep dark brown eyes, but his daughter my neice still has blue eyes ![]() |
