I'm so unlucky! I just love the taste of fresh milk, but as an Asian, I can't drink it. I drank two glasses once, and I was in the bathroom for the rest of the day, and felt miserable for the next two days.

Perhaps what was being stressed by the teacher was that drinking milk (of another species, and after weaning age), is unique to humans. Therefore, it is a culltural phenomenon, and not generally a biological necessity.
I have heard this expressed as a response to the "you must drink milk for strong bones and teeth" campaigns, which do border on indoctrination. Cow's milk is not necessary to human health, by any means, but the dairy food group is represented to the general public as essential nutrition, in America at least.

Did she happen to mention that human milk would be vastly superior to cow's milk for children under two?

I often wonder how we all got so "addicted" to the secretions of modified sweat glands of the bovine.

I love cheese (yes, the aged and molding secretions of modified sweat glands of the bovine), but my nursing babies couldn't stand when I had any dairy (of course, that could've been the antibiotics or other factors injected by the modern dairy industry ...)

Yes of course she did. I don't drink cow's milk because I think it's doing a bunch of wonderful things for me. I drink it because I like it. And the adult human body can do just fine without it.

I will keep my comment to myself on this one.

I love milk and I've loved it my entire life. Whenever I go home to visit, my parents are flabbergasted as to how fast the milk goes because I drink so much. I don't see anything wrong with milk so long as you can handle it. S'never hurt me any. I wonder if its made me as strong as I am today? (Like the old commercials )

Nah... you're strong because you ate your Wonder Bread as a kid.

I wasn't allowed to eat Wonder bread. I had to eat some nasty whole wheat bread with little pieces of bird seed in it. You could sand your car with it..

Now that I'm a grown up I eat Wonder bread. I refuse to ever eat any bread with even a trace of brown in it. I love soft, nice Wonder bread! (with a big glass of milk)

These people have taken factual information and drawn illogical conclusions. Towit:

Milk is not as good for you as the dairy industry used to say it is (true) --> Milk is bad for you (false)

Many people, especially of non-European descent, are lactose-intolerant (true) --> No one should drink milk (bullshit)

I don't really understand what their agenda is. Some people just like to say crazy extreme stuff to get attention. I suspect some vegans are behind it, since the dairy industry enslaves cows.

Now I feel a vague urge to check my geneology (spelling, anybody?) because my family is as northern European as you can get, and half of my siblings (including myself) turned up lactose intolerant. Gotta wonder which ancestors I haven't been told about.
