However, you would have to do some checking to see if there are any limitations on the size and content of the ads being posted. Beyond that, your concern about the organizations agenda, though well founded from a negative Christian/ religious viewpoint, does not preclude that organization from seeking membership by posting to the bulletin board. Hopefully some of the teachers who frequent this forum will be able to provide some practical information that you can use. |

I'm in Edmonton too, Militant Moderate, but I haven't come across Mothers Who Care.
Well, I mean, my own Mom cares, of course, but she doesn't belong to any official group. Which brings up an interesting (and irritating) point - do mothers who choose not to prosyletize simply not care? I think groups like this are on the fringe of Canadian society, but I'm glad people like you are still keeping an eye out, Militant Moderate. It would be a terrible thing to lose the mostly secular society we've built... |

My simple solution: Take the poster down. When "God Bless America" posters went up in my school after 9/11, I didn't have a whole lot of trouble walking down the hall after school tearing them down and throwing them in the dumpster. I almost decided to complain to the administration (The principal really seemed pretty spineless) but it was the option that required the least effort.
Option number two is to put up an equal amount of "religious" material in the same exact place but of the variety that offends Christians. -B |

It seems to me that the teachers and administrators shouldn't be able to actively promote religious activities during school hours. Could you start your own thread and explain the situation a bit more? Perhaps we could give you some ideas for addressing the situation without putting yourself at risk. <thread hijack mode off>[ |
