I really enjoyed the movie. I didn't expect much, but I was pleasantly surprised. My kids liked it too.
Was it predictable? Yeah, if you had high school english it was immediately recognizable, but it was still a pretty damn good movie.

Yeah, we've always been big on greek mythology in general and Ulysses and the Odyssey in particular here in Mississippi. Glad you folks enjoyed it.

I thought it was a very good movie. I'm a fan of the Coen brothers, and while I didn't feel it was in the same league with their "masterpieces", Fargo and Raising Arizona, I think it ranks just above The Big Lebowski and The Hudsucker Proxy.

It is often listed as a "Freethought Movie", which I kind of consider a misnomer. Clooney's character had a couple of good lines, and John Goodman's character was humorous, but it really never struck me as a freethought movie.

THOUGHTfully Yours,
Clark

I loved the movie and I play the music way to much. I just wish that they didn't have to make Clooney's character pull the "No atheists in foxholes" crap at the end. I know it was a retelling of the Odyssey... but did he really have to start praying to God as soon as they put the noose around his neck?

of course they did. simply b/c it makes every theist who sees it feel good to see the atheist bow down to their god. so, they could leave it out and it probably would have gone unnoticed. or they can please the vast majority of the population, while pissing off relatively few.
