Oh, and you know how in America you have state quarters? Canada took that dumb idea a step further....Canada has all sorts of odd pictures on quarters now...including poorly drawn pictures by children (no, I'm entirely serious).

Oh, I ran into dumb tourists today in Vancouver. They thought they were being savvy by refering to gas as petrol (it's "gas" here, same as in America) and asked me where the hash bars were (as if we were in Amsterdam). Obviously don't do either of those things.

The Golden Rule to follow if you want to be liked in Canada (outside of Quebec) if you're American:

Generally, act as if things are just the same as in America, but when you come across a difference, solemnly declare how that the Canadian version is much better. Or, buy people beer. But that works everywhere.
