I just noticed that I said "paternal" above, when in both instances it should be "maternal." (not that it's that important).
Yeah, I was pretty immersed. My brother was an AoG minister (he's since switched to the Vineyard Church), and a couple of cousins are as well. Movies, cards, dancing...all things that were prohibited in my youth! |

Yeah, he is a real crusty old son of a bitch. I can't remember the fuckers' name.
I don't think getting into fisticuffs with him would have been a good idea. The fact that he refused to preside over the ceremony almost stopped the whole thing. Oh, well. He should be dead soon, he's pretty old. I'll just go piss on his grave. That should even the score. |

Most of my paternal family belong to an outfit called Plymouth Brethren,a.k.a. Open Brethren.
Everything smacking of pleasure was wrong or sinful. Two of my aunts had no children and it wasn't until I grew up that I began to suspect that somthing else often associated with pleasure was deemed wrong too! Seems likely anyway.....they all lived their holy lives in abject misery as far as I could see. |
