Default God, the devil and bob

Does anyone remember a cartoon from a few years back called God, The Devil and Bob about an average guy (bob) who was befriended by God and Satan and had to convince God not to bring about the Apocalypse?

What happened to it and are there DVD's or VHS available?(can't seem to find them anywhere)

It got killed in under 5 episodes by the christ bots. Too few episodes to warrant syndication or a DVD release.

Actually although only a few episodes were aired after being shot down by fundie bible thumpers, there was in fact a full season of 13 episodes completed. I emailed Carsey-Werner a number of times about releasing the series on DVD but never got a response. I could never figure why as you'd think they'd want to recoup some $$$ out of it. I know I'd buy a set.

I am of the camp that says it was not that good.

It actually might be perfectly rational decision not to offer it on DVD at the given time.

1) It does take money to produce the DVD, to promote it, and to distribute it. If the people involved don't think they will get enough sales to overcome this they will not put it out. It certainly does not help that the series had little popularity and more importantly did not develop a cult following.

2) There is an enormous amount of material that can be put on DVDs. It is unlikely that any company has the resources to put out every title it has the rights to and even if it did it is unlikely that the market could support all possible titles since store shelf space is very much finite and so it the amount of money people have to spend on DVDs. So the questions become not just which could make money but which will make the most money and home many of its titles can the market support.

Data? I know it was very unpopular with the fundies, but if the show produced sufficient Nielsen numbers it is unlikely that it would have been cancelled. [Time passes] I just did a web search: the show had horrid ratings (worst of worst) sufficient to cancel any show let alone one that pissed off a large segment of the population, had the Garcia estate suing it, etc.
