Well, I used to live in Lexington, N.C., where they have an annual Barbeque Festival. Trust me, they take it extremely seriously there! Anyone who even thought of suggesting that eastern-style barbeque could be compared to western-style would probably be crucified on the spot.

Cheers,

Michael

When I first saw the name of the thread I thought you were talking about the Cued Speech!

If I'm eating barbecue, I generally prefer the tomato saucy kind. I've been to that famous barbecue place in Lexington. The Lexington Barbecue, right?

It was delicious, especially with the potato salad on the side. Sometimes it is nice to go back to our redneck roots

Mustard-based. There's a greaaat place in Charleston.. if I only remembered the name....
Would you be thinking of Sticky Fingers? I've been there twice, and they have some of the best barbeque sauce I've ever tasted.

So... if eastern NC bbq is vinegary, does that mean western NC bbq is tomatoey? Or something else?

And when you guys talk bbq, are you referring to pork and beef roasts or ribs or both? We have beef tri-tip out here (SoCal) for bbq, as well as pork and beef ribs and chicken pieces.
