I am aware of the fact that the vote is unscientific.
That you cannot extrapolate from the 70/30 vote that 70% of the population are in favor of keeping "under God" and 30% are opposed. That you can't even say that 70% of THOSE VOTING are in favor of keeping "under God" and 30% opposed. Or even how many people have actually voted. And yet it remains a fact that, in spite of emails being circulated saying "urgent, vote no," and what seems to me to be a greater likelihood of fans of religious oppression casing multiple votes on the side of not removing "under God," there is still some greater force voting on the side of "remove Under God from the pledge." |
