Nope. In previous posts he has admitted his position is one derived of fear.

You said "You fear not having life after death so.." but he never said nor implied "fear", which of course is a feeling. [edited to add: in the op. - I'm new here. Apparently he's acknowledged the fear elsewhere.]
Exactly

I judge faith by results. Other than that, I could not care less what people believe.
So I take it you are fine with christians. This is a very bad position to take. I judge on the logical reasoning behind a position.

But you didn't bring a debate. There were three lines in your post. The first line misstated his position. The second line told him how he feels, along with some insulting remarks. And the third line was some sort of psuedo advice.
This whole paragraph is false.

Already given, please keep up.

Absurd? You can't honestly believe that can you? When men face the unknown they automatically conjure up the worst possible scenario, thus causing fear. Men fear the unknown. Try again yguy.

Talking

attacking emotional's beliefs is absurd. Yes, we know they're ridiculous. Yes, they don't stand a chance against logical inquiry. But he's tried to get rid of them, damn it, and the fear is debilitating. He needs to believe in life after death. It doesn't hurt anyone, it makes him happy. So why try to attack it? Honestly, it's just plain cruel. His religion might be a crutch, fine- but why do you want to kick out someone's crutches?

I have went through this before. If his belief's are so fragile, then he shouldn't be on this board. If I recall he said he was leaving and never really left. People should not bend to fit his needs. This board is for discussing, and that is what I was doing. Everyone jumps on christians for their beliefs, but just because he isn't officially aligned with a religion means hes OK, no matter how absurd his beliefs are? I didn't go overboard when directing my comments toward him, so I don't know why you view me in such a negative light.

My point was that we all understand the basis of christian views. Emotional is not a christian. Part of understanding his views for me is to understand the motivations for them and what they are based upon. .

Emotional, I find your views particularly interesting because you argue against christian views (not just views, but the whole Bible), but your views are still heavily shaped by christian beliefs. Your "faith" is unshakeable, but you dump them in the trash when you're tired playing with them. You admit your views are not only irrational, but ridiculous. Yet you hold onto them. I don't understand how that's possible. It's mindboggling to me.

Your admissions? Very admirable. Your continued willingness to look past ridicule and openly discuss your beliefs, courageous. I think someday though you'll learn from us that death is not something to fear. It's going to happen. If "life" continues after "death" (funny how christianity transform such simple words) that will happen. You can't comprehend and don't have the slightest idea what that will be like. There's no point in believing silly ideas. It doesn't change reality.

Is this, and now every other thread, a one way forum for emotional, where he gets a pass on reaction to his beliefs, or is there room for discussion, opinion, reaction, and yes even ridicule just as in every other thread here? Think about it. He's a grown up. He doesn't have to hold onto ridiculous beliefs. He's also just posting his beliefs here, but elsewhere, he argues them with authority. That's his choice.

Learn from YOU??

What the hell do you know about death? Nothing - therefore, you have no idea whether it's something to fear or not.

No it isn't a big surprise at all. I've been put down all my life by pious righteous christians bigots. Can I insult you now and call you one, or is that out of line compared to your condescending hypocritical insult you've thrown our way? You do know that you can't criticize someone for being insulting and then insult them yourself. That makes you a hypocrite. Oh, Christian/Hypocrite that fits so nicely.

Oh, and I don't have to make you out to be wrong. You are wrong. Aggrandizement at christians expense? How sweet it is.

What do I "know" about death? Nothing? No, we know a lot more than that. You stop breathing. Your heart stops to beat. Your cells begin to die and break down. You decay.

What do you "know?" Should I be afraid because of the absurdities we find in the Bible?

I suppose you're an expert because of a poorly written book you choose to put faith in. All praise be to yguy.

What the hell do I care?

I see nothing condescending or hypocritical about it...and I didn't know I was talking to you.

I didn't criticize anyone for being insulting, I merely pointed out the motivation behind it.

I ain't a Christian. As for hypocrisy, I'll let others come to their own conclusion.

Damn, talk about hitting the bullseye with a blindfold on.
