Default Pepsi Boycott

Well, a few months ago Bill O'Reilly whipped up a right wing racist frenzy because Pepsi had hired black rapper Ludicrous to rap about Pepsi in an ad for them (well, I'm assuming that's what he did, I never saw the ad). The supposed complaint centered around Ludicrous's "foul language" in his (non Pepsi related) music. Pepsi dutifully terminated the contract. And then this superbowl....they had the fucking Osbournes, whose only real claim to fame (other than daddy) is that they say "fuck" and similiar words a lot.

Anyway, Russell Simmons (hip hop buisnessman/cultural advocate/philanphropist/financeer) is apparently going to be calling for a boycott of Pepsi products in the near future. I just thought it was sort of interesting.

I don't care if Pepsi sponsored a mass hanging, goat fucking or baby eating contest. Pepsi is mothers milk. Ambrosia. The staff 'o life. I'll be a loyal consumer until I die from drinking too much Pepsi.

edited to add one more PEPSI.

Will Pepsi ever learn?

First they hired Michael Jackson and the only thing anyone remembers from that campaign is the fact that Michael's hair caught fire while filming a commercial.
The they laid out big bucks for Madonna, made a big deal about the world premiere of her video and tying it in to a pepsi commerical. Well the video was for "Like A Prayer" and caused some much righteous indignation that it was only aired one time.
The the ludicrous Ludacris fiasco.
And now the foul-mouthed Osbornes/Osmonds crappy commercial.
Oh yeah and there was a brief fling with Britney Spears as spokesperson, but she was canned and is being replaced by Beyonce Knowles.

I heartily suggest that they fire their ad agency.

I agree... time for a new ad agency.

I'm indifferent to the Osbournes, and I don't care about Ludicris, one way or another, but if they keep wasting their money on flop ads, they won't stay in business... and I need my divine nectar, dammit!

"This guy Ludacris is harmless to mature adults, but not to impressionable children that lack parental guidance. Obviously Pepsi could not care less about those children, because they're promoting a man that espouses violence, degrading sex and substance abuse," O'Reilly said.

I guess it's okay if it's only one out of three of those things.

OMG! You are the anti-me. If we ever come in contact we shall both surely cease to exist.

Pepsi's ok if it's pepsi or urine, but if I get the choice, it's Coke.
