It seems that she will become sensitized to the Rh- antigen during the first pregnancy - probably during delivery - and as a result "reject" the Rh+ fetus. Since my mother is B- (2nd rarest blood type) when I was born with absolutely no indication of Rh- rejection, the Dr. predicted that my father was Rh-. Later when all of our blood types were established, this was shown to be correct. Of course, both of my brothers are Rh-, and by chance we are all O-. My father is also O-. My mother must necessarily be genotype BO-. |
