Frankly, it irritates me to see the quality of argument coming from the accomodationist side over there. When you have post after post indicating that "the founding fathers put 'In God we Trust' on our money, and put "under God" into the pledge, on the History Channel's bulletin board, the irony almost beggers description. I think I really need to get over it, and move on. |

ksagnostic,
Thanks for the feedback, and kind words at that. It's good exercise, and I just wanted to go to a place where I don't really mind pulling out the stops a bit more. Around here I agree with much of what is said regarding C/SS. Also, as superficial as it may be, over here I consider even the nontheistic folks that I don't agree with on various matters of tastes, politics, strategic vision, or decorum, to be some semblance of secular, metaphysical "family". This is also our dojo. Over there is the place to try out persuasion jeet kune do/aikido or whatever. I figured there would be quite a bit more willful ignorance--- and as you point out---I was not disappointed in that respect. I hear people around here talk about going thrill riding and fora diving in hostile xtian zones to tag team and push the envelope a bit. I just wanted to broaden my horizons a bit. You sure ain't wrong. There is some major, major backwards-ass and stunted thinking/writing going on over there. So much so I couldn't figure out if it was presented by individuals trying to discredit the fans of "under god"! Wow. Kinda scary. It's bizarre that people like that think they have anything much in common philosophically with Franklin, Jefferson et al. Completely different agendas and they don't even realize it. Strange. Fun tag teaming with you for a bit....... |
