I had written a rather longish commentary on this, but it got lost when my net connection was interrupted. So, I will re-write it as best I can.

First, I do not disagree that Momma Dee Dee did not right out say “we will ban you.” However, as I have implied elsewhere, she did not need to. Refusing to allow my posts to make it to the board for the slightest supposed infraction is a de facto banning. This reminds me of the ReMine debacle, wherein he becomes indignant and accusatory when people mention his conspiracy theory regarding Haldane’s dilemma because he never explicitly said “there is a conspiracy”. So, if that is going to end up being some sort of point of contention, I retract it. The fact remains that ‘censoring’ posts into non-existence is, in effect, banning without the use of the word.

Unfortunately, I did not keep her original email to me, but I do have the PMs and subsequent emails, and would like to quote from and comment on them.

Unlike Jimmy, I do think Momma is delusional. Mildly so, perhaps. Case in point, in my PM to solas, which was apparently forwarded to her to which she responded via email to me, and which she commented on to Hamster, I had mentioned only insults form Soc(Edited for content) to other posters – I mentioned one single instance in which he had insulted me (that came later with the cut and paste debacle).

My list of quotes (from only two pages in one thread):

This was forwarded to Momma, who then replied to me as indicated in Hamster’s post, with a “oh, yeah? You did THIS” for each of the quotes. Which just furthers my point – it should have been clear that I was referring to Jonny’s attitude toward EVERYONE, not just me, and so calling me a hypocrite and all that was displaced – a cover.

As for my cut and paste Soc quote, there seems to be some interesting contradictory tales from Momma on that.

According to the email from Ham, she did not even read the original from Soc.
But this is what she wrote to me- keeping in mind that she had written that my post was on the board and so was proof that there is no bias:

That is why Hamster could not find the post in question – Momma censored it, then later tried to claim that it was on the board. For how else can one interpret “attempted”?
Now, Soc’s post remains – untouched – my cut and pasted retread gets axed and used as an example of my ‘rule breaking’ and ‘hypocrisy’.
She might try to wiggle out of it by saying that my post contained no ‘substance’ as she says in the email – Soc’s post had none, either – it was typical “Menton is so smart and you are not” Soc that we have come to expect. I guess maybe if I had written a few more sentences it might have been considered substantive?

Oh – I forgot to mention the punchline – here is what Momma wrote to me when I rebutted her comparative list and I pointed out the cut and paste:

And I had to chuckle – in “response” to my quoting Soc thusly:

to ‘prove’ that I had done “far worse”, Momma quotes me:

I guess only Soc is allowed to write like Soc.

And, AGAIN, THAT has been my point all along, utterly lost on the PropagandaWeb admin.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: insults, name-calling, and rudeness in general are note only ineffective, they are counterproductive because they diminish our own credibility. When I'm debating with somebody, the minute they do this I consider myself to have won because as far as I'm concerned, such tactics are the last resort of an ineffective argument.

They've finally gone and done it over there. I'm fucking bored almost to distraction.

It seems like almost every thread I'm following now, has degenerated into back-biting and who-done-whut-to-who, and the mods aren't helping one, damned bit. Indeed, it's almost as if this was SOP and they are used to it. This isn't any kind of a discussion; it's gibbering.

I am considering abandoning Tweb; life is too short for excessive nonsense.

Not going to go away right away, though. Maybe it'll get better. There are still a few possibilities for a good, clean, on-topic, knock-down-and-drag-out.
