Argh! There are people who keep saying this! (You, for one, satanka).

Removing that regime from power also offers a chance for fundamental Islamists in that regime to flourish and thrive with the Iraq population in even more fear than under Saddam.

If the fucking US of A had had some decent post-war plans in action the moment Saddams statue was toppled, then sure - but what is happening there right now is WORSE than Saddam. Much worse.

Really? Let's see your numbers of dead/injured, the atrocities, and the date ranges for each event. I'd be interested in seeing how you stack-rank the various large scale events of "death and destruction".

Does it? Based upon what? Where is the historical precedence for believing this? And what is your proof that his removal from power won't precipitate a balkanization that will set various ethnic or religious groups against each other in a power struggle?

Oh, that's right: you don't have the inclination or desire for any such assignments as substantiating your numerous claims.

I stumbled on this stupidity:

The reason it is a stupidity is because:

1.) Hussein didn't cooperate with the United Nations;

2.) Bush didn't cooperate with the United Nations too when attacking Hussein.

Since 2) happened, Bush and fans cannot invoke 'or else' in the name of the United Nations.

(Bush didn't cooperate with the United Nations, as it is shown by these facts:

a.) no United Nations' resolution did spell what the consequences for Hussein were;

b.) the United Nations were to decide the consequences on Hussein, not Bush with his own agenda;

c.) the United Nations' approach was to press peacefully on Hussein, and this showed results for ten years.).

Default watch out Montana Freemen

...wherever there are evil doer terrorists ... unless they have oil and are in Saudia Arabia...
More will be revealed in the Kean report...

Oh yes i'm certain that OTHER is the answer. 1,2, and 3 are eliminated simply because the directions we are taking America were reached and decided upon by the PNAC long before we invaded Afghanistan... All this stuff going down was preplanned and now we just have to deal with the New Wave Ellsbergs and the Internet and those Iraqi moles in the Senate (very funny line )

But I left the BB just after that post, so I didn't see this one until this morning. Not so much of a night owl, after all.

Oh, I don't think he'll want yours. He's got his own, much bigger and thicker.

Bush apologists, if you cannot make the case that Iraq was an imminent threat to the U.S., then stop falling back on the transparent assertion that we went to war to "liberate the Iraqi people."

This administration is not concerned with Iraqi people, Liberians, etc. It is concerned with reelection in 2004 and consolidating power. Period.

The counterargument to "liberation" is easy........if we're concerned about liberation, why haven't we gone into Cuba? Cubans in the Miami area have wanted this for years, and it's what, 90 miles off the coast? Plus, at one time, they were a very legitimate threat (albeit in the 60s), and at no time in the recent past was Iraq a threat.

So when they bring up liberation, I bring up how many innocent Iraqis were killed at such a high cost when we haven't liberated our neighbor yet.

I'd be a terrible politician, I don't mince words well. Thus I've been called "unAmerican." (Calling a Marine unAmerican, how ironic do you get......)

I should run for President, LadyShea can be my running mate since she's even more to the point than I am.

Forget oil.........Cuba has cigars!!
