I just saw a story on CNN about wounded Iraqi soldiers that were being treated by US medics. They covered the story as if the US were doing this out of the goodness of thier hearts and not because International law requires it. I don't doubt that if the US were not bound by Intl law that they would do otherwise but this sort of coverage is over the top.

Even if they did not do it for humanitarian reasons, they would do it for p.r. reasons. In this war at least. The media recognizes its value in this regard too and they're milking it accordingly. I think it's a good thing overall, setting aside the whole debate about whether the war itself is good or right or whatever. I'll take some humanitarianism for the wrong reasons vs none. It's better than no treatment, and worse than not getting shot or injured at all. But that's another issue.
