Default Colorado Springs infidels come here!

Anyone planning on going?

For anyone out there who lives in Colorado Springs orwould like to drive down, there is a Colorado Springs Freethinkers meeting tonight. The hubbie and I will be there as well as a guy from the atheists Meetup last week, and quite a few others from the freethought community down here. We're planning on getting together for a drink after the meeting, location tba.

Meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. in the El Paso County Health Dept. Auditorium (301 S. Union Blvd)

Here's the info regarding the meeting from www.freethinkerscs.com

Meeting on Wednesday, June 25, 2003: Rich Tosches

Rich Tosches is a weekly columnist for the Colorado Springs Gazette Telegraph and the Freethinkers of Colorado Springs have awarded Rich the "Voice of Reason" award for 2003. In his columns, Rich has been an outspoken proponent of rational thinking, reason, and fairness and has been unafraid to challenge the claims of those who adhere to dogmatic logic when coming to terms with our human condition. Rich will give a 20 minute acceptance speech and then he'll be happy to take your questions. Please make every effort to attend -- it's sure to be an interesting evening!
If you're interested, pm me and we can arrange to meet. Hope to see you there.

I wanted to go to that tonight, but I'm working until 7. I do want to go to Colorado Springs sometime though - have fun, and let us know how the meeting went!

Sorry I missed you girlwriter. I never got word back that anyone was going, so I agreed to pick up a friend at the airport instead. I'm planning on going to the Denver meeting this Sat. though. Anyone else?

I was at the meeting. Rich Tosches is a funny writer (not quite to the Dave Barry level but good) and a funny guy.

I didn't see this thread until tonight, otherwise I would have have looked for you girlwriter.

I am not sure how many people that auditorium seats, but I would guess about 200. Most of the seats were filled.

I am planning on driving down to Denver for the gathering at Benigan's on Saturday evening.
