Default Best working-out method?

Hi. I've posted last time that I had only a couple of minutes a day workout. Now I have about one hour a day and want to fully make use of my abs, biceps and ...ok, cut the shit...I'M DESPERATE FOR A KICK-ASS BODY! I'm currently doing 30 on dumbells (dunno if I spell it right), 20 on sit-ups, 20 on push-ups and 10 minutes of jogging. How consistent do i need to exercise per week? Thanks for advice.

Hmm. Well, you would look really goofy if you kept up that workout regimen and really bulked up only those few muscle groups. If you really want a kick-ass body, my only advice is to find a way to work out each major muscle group (instead of just biceps and chest, for example, work the triceps, shoulders, back, etc.) in order to have equal growth all around.

What I do is spend one day on biceps and back, the next on triceps and abs, the following on chest and shoulders, and the the last day on various lower body exercise. It takes me awhile to get through the exercises, but I imagine it wouldn't be tough to get them down to an hour for the whole workout. I get my aerobics in elsewhere, but if this is the only time you have, then you can probably spare a good 20 to 30 minutes on it--even if you have to spread your weight lifting out a bit more.

I make an effort to workout everyday. I only lift weights 4 days a week, but I do try to get in some type of aerobic activity everyday. You should stay fairly consistent with your exercising, and don't go more than a few days without working out.

Hope this helps some. If you really want to look ripped, then you'll have to spend some more time on lifting weights and working the major muscle groups. Right now it seems like you will tone your body and be in good shape, but you likely won't turn many heads.

Do you have access to a gym, or do you work solely with what you own/have access to?

I don't go to gym(too far), but I'll be most probably follow the workour routines here; http://www.theministryoffitness.com/exercises.htm

the problem is I only have dumbbells and a bed as a bench...

I've just bumped up the 11 page thread on fitness and exercise.

I've used dumbells exclusively since I started working out last July. You'd do better I think to make a bench out of a board and something to sit it on than trying to do anything on a bed. The bed won't give you the support you need, and you also need something narrow so you can drop your arms to the sides on some exercises.

Read the referenced thread - it has a lot of good links and information in it.

cheers,
Michael

That doesn't sound like a bad workout routine. It get everything in shape, I imagine. As that other Michael said, you might look into making yourself a good workout bench. Probably a board on top of a couple milk crates would do it for you. You should be good--just keep up with it.

I don't really have anything else to add. I'm sure you'll learn more than you wanted to know in that thread...
