After inspectors were kicked out, and they destroyed something like 95% of Saddam's known weapons, Clinton ordered Operation Desert Fox which targetted any and all suspected sites (using info from the inspectors) where they thought they had WMD's. We don't really know how successful it was, but seeing as we haven't found jackshit and all the intellegence Bush used to justify war was forged, bogus, vague, exaggerated, and/or came from biased sources, we were probably successful in destroying his WMD.

Interesting how Nog completely skipped over my quote from Rumsfeld where he said that we KNOW where the weapons are...

Is it not true that they left because the US (Clinton) told them to get out because we were ready to do the bombing that Mr. Superbad referenced? |

Absolutely right, Gary. It's yet another Bush Truth(tm) that they were expelled.
http://www.fair.org/activism/usat-iraq.html shows multiple sources saying that Butler ordered them out because of Clinton getting ready to bomb Baghdad. They were even criticized for it. |

What I find even more interesting is that Saddams accusations that some inspectors were spying for the US were later confirmed as fact.
So the US even gave him due cause for being troublesome in the first place. Although I'll grant this might not have been the only reason he was unco-operative. |

Oh come on, people. Isn't it pretty obvious that Saddam had hundreds of tons of chemical and biologican weapons (we were "misinformed" about the nukes), all ready to mobilize instantly. The UN was just an inept group of French-sympathizers (the French themselves were Saddam's loyal supporters, and have been anti-'Merica for years) ('Merica (c) 2001, GOP) and couldn't find them because Saddam had mobile labs and fancy things to keep them hidden.
But then, during the first few days of the war, wily Saddam just destroyed all of these hundreds of tons of weapons without leaving a trace. Even though he destroyed them, we'll find some eventually. I mean, just look at what we've already found. VANS! That could accelerate to speeds in excess of 60 mph. Why, that's even faster in kilometers! What more evidence do we really need? Just give it time, that's what we've said all along. That this will require a long, deliberate search. It's not like we control the country, right? And our Iraqi friends will help us. They love us anyway. I'm ashamed to be on a board with you baguette eating anti-patriots. Open your eyes. </sarcasm> Chuck |

I think that at this time, it'd be appropriate for us to thank Saddam Hussein for being such a nice guy and not using the WMD's that he has against our servicemembers overseas.
