If they ever succeed in cloning muscle tissue without cloning the whole animal, so it's possible to have meat without killing, I bet they'll be a market for people who want to try some humanburger...(anyone ever read the comic "transmetropolitan?")

And on the subject of grim questions regarding decapitation, I have a morality question. When you chop off a chicken's head, it'll run around for a while before collapsing. We all know this.
Would it be immoral to torture the headless body of the chicken before it stopped wiggling? |

I remember reading that one of the doctors in the French revolution asked some of the people about to be beheaded to blink or something at him if they felt the pain, and they did. There must be some small time frame there when the person feels pain and can respond to it.
