It's still worth it, though. As to the story, I can't even think of anything coherent to say, except that I'd love to see everyone who participated or stood by and let it happen suffer greatly for it. Poor kid. |

your region of the country is as bad as my region of the country
My region of the country is the same as your region of the country and IMO you are, in a word, wrong. It happens in the illiterate, bigoted states of the North West. Yeah, but there ain't so many of'em so proud of it that they claim it's their "Heritage". Alright already! There are illiterate bigoted people in every state, probably in every nation, too. Let's stop this stupid "my state/area is better than your state/area" banter! Why should where? this takes place not be an important part of this topic? We often draw demographic references to such judicial/political cases... I suggest that the entire debate over the same type of fundy arrogance regarding Judge Moore would change were he in the Northwest, for example. Rather than silence the issue, maybe someone can offer some guidance as to the truth... I can handle the truth... can Rufus? Altho AIF specified AL, MS and GA, while I would tend to more generally specify "The South", I would be interested in the truth of this matter. And just to be clear, I am only saying that I would not be surprised to learn that AIF (or myself) is right, regarding these kinds of cases but there are possibly too many variables preventing us from any real truth. |

Toto,
Thanks! I love that I was wrong on that. I was just vaguely remembering that my ACLU membership wasn't tax deductible (and was being too lazy to look it up). I need to trick you into researching stuff more often. You're much better at it than I am, anyway. |

I just tried the link and the story seems to have been removed. I also did a search on the site and the only thing that came up were the response letters. That really sucks because I was going to use this story as a reference for my Sociology essay.

So send in the minimum dues amount and make a generous gift to the foundation, if you have tax considerations. |
