I don't get it. According to MG, he doesn't think it's science or something to be taught. What else is there to discuss?

Getting the evil, satanic, anti christian, anti biblical lie of evolution out of the schools.

Yup, once we get a designer in the schools, the only logical question is "Who is that designer?"

Well, since we MUST consider a designer, and who would that designer be?

from the report (regarding the up side of the ID movement):

Quote:
It has produced some materials and arguments which, though not necessarily designed to help the battle for Biblical creation, have been very useful in this cause.
Something strikes me as inherently hilarious about creationists talking about something being co-opted for a purpose for which it wasn't designed.

One could ask such objectors whether they are aware of any origins teaching outside of the Abrahamic stream which:
Claims to be absolute revelational truth from the Creator in documentary form
This conveniently rules out ALL creation stories from pre-literate cultures. But of course, since the criteria were contrived to eliminate all but the favored version. As I see it, though, schools would still have to teach the Upanishads, Enuma Elish, the Zend Avesta, the Egyptian Book of the Dead, etc. I especially like the 4th criterion; since the only evidence for a particular creation story is merely evidence offered against evolution, it can apply equally to any story.
