This is a stupid little thing that was supposed to be interesting and fun. [edited by dangin]

Ah, I went back to finish what you were ranting about. Yes, I like the brights idea--so what? It's not like I was hiding it and you've made some big discovery. Surprise, your opinion on the matter isn't the end-all-be-all of the matter--some people (including some moderators and other rational atheists) like the idea. However as has been stated this is a simple observation being done here and this isn't another brights-argument thread. Now will you PLEASE stop thread hijacking and .<Personal attack deleted>

Sorry Kiwi, you don't get to hide behind "I'm just having fun" when promoting your ideology here. That's the beauty of the Internet Infidels board. You actually have to defend your bullshit with honest, rational, reasonable argumentation. If you are incapable of that, and feel the need to resort to ad hominem attacks, you will be moderated.

I am not hijacking this thread. I am questioning the validity of the data model you introduced in your OP. Quite on-topic, actually. I really don't understand why you're so sensitive about this. Oh, except that you left here for months, and in the less than two weeks since you got back you've posted nothing but Brights propaganda.

You're in the pool with the big kids now, Kiwi. I'm not peeing in it, I'm just letting you know how we play around here.

Welcome back.

Just Secular Lifestyle now, actually.

IIDB is not a "support board" and even if it were, this thread is in no way a request for support. In fact, given it's focus on meme-spreading it should probably have been started in the CSS/Secular Activism forum and I would recommend it be moved to that forum just like the first Brights thread was. Just because you don't want to be questioned on your methodology or motivations doesn't mean you get to post something like this in SL, call it a support thread, and demand that it be shielded from the sharp scrutiny of rational non-theists like you.

As for the rest of your profanity and invective, it's inappropriate anywhere on this forum, and particularly in SL. I find it troubling that you would plead special SL protection for this thread (on entirely specious grounds, imo) while at the same time having no detectable qualms about dousing the place in flames.

Wacky. I try to do a fun little experiment on here... and I get post after post trying to harrass me. "methodology" (as if there was any) was admitted early on to be none, but apparently that's not enough. And the harrassment accelerates. I ask the moderators to step in--and they agree with the thread hijackers! I've obviously been away too long from this board. Things have apparently changed since I've been gone and I don't understand it here anymore. Anyone can take a thread and turn it into on off-topic bitch session and completely destroy it from its purpose and that's just fine with the moderators.

If an adult, rational atheist can't even make a simple, fun little post on here without the roaring crowd from rants-and-raves destroying the topic, then something is really really messed up. If the moderators are unable to see that, then things are even worse than I thought.

Do what you want, I'm gone. I'm not interested in being unable to carry on a topic without being attacked from all sides (even over a pro-atheistic topic). I'll again leave these boards to the drooling argue-bots. If this is how fellow atheists are being treated now I'd hate to see how anyone else is treated.

I'm locking this thread until I decide what to do with it.

To everyone who has hurled or peed in this thread, I'd like you to remember the rule of not being a jerk.

Secular Lifestyle is a forum for the support of issues related to living a secular lifestyle. However, I still see room within this forum for requests to back up claims.

Nevermind-- it's been moved now.
