Question Bush blast "revisionist historians"

here

I mean only verbal blast. At least for now .

Well, according to the story, even people within his administration are bitten with the revisionism bug.

PS: When did "truthful" fall under the definition of "revisionism"?

The layers of irony in that article make my head hurt.

Argh, how can they still be keeping up this propaganda?

[from the article]
Quote:
"Saddam Hussein was a threat to America and the free world in '91, in '98, in 2003. He continually ignored the demands of the free world, so the United States and friends and allies acted."
Doesn't "free world" require a limitation here? If it's the demands of the UN he's referring to: the UN is largely made up of the non-free world. And it's actually debatable whether the people in the "free world" are free or rather slaves of their manipulative governments.
Furthermore, "friends and allies"? Whatever happened to the "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" attitude? Could it be that Bush has actually learned something?

Quote:
"This is for certain, Saddam Hussein is no longer a threat to the United States and our friends and allies."
Lol, he never was a threat, no wonder he isn't one now.

I cannot believe this man ever became a president. He's the personification of what is wrong with democracy.

The Republicans are under the impression that if you say a lie enough times it will become the truth. Sadly far too many Americans believe them.

BTW, religious leaders have been using this tactic for centuries as well. Like the old saying goes, "People perfer a popular myth over an unpopular truth..."

Should add this to my book. Explains why people get sore when I tell the truth.

Oh yes, revisionist history, such as "we never supplied Iraq with biological weapons."

Revisionist history like "we never supported Saddam in any wars."

Revisionist history like "we were never such good allies with Saddam that Rumsfeld had his picture taken with him, and that Detriot gave Saddam keys to the city."

And by the way, what does "history" have to do with the topic at hand anyhow? We currently, today, have not found any WMD in Iraq. There's nothing "historical" about it... it's unfolding right in front of our (and Bush's) eyes!

It is "relevant" because Bush can attack all those Ivory Tower Lefties and thus disguise the fact that he is an ivory tower rightie (albeit not a very educated one, he leaves the education to his cabinet/advisors) that want to create a new American empire.

More Bush flim flam. Turn the accusation back on the accuser. Say "no child left behind" then go cut Head Start. Say "Support our troops" then go cut veterans benefits. Say "create jobs" but give a windfall to billionaires instead. SCream about reviusionists when the revisionists are all working for you. I've begun to fear that the citizenry is just as stupid as he thinks it is.
