It's a group on MSN which I decided to check out a while ago, and I've left some plugs for this place hoping to perhaps expand our influence. Anyways, I don't recommend it for anyone here, but only because the lack of decent moderation leaves it kind of a free-for-all. There are some other things I don't like about it, but that's MSN for ya.
Anyway, I got an email today with my weekly update of the group's activity, and one of the message board topics was titled 'The Atheists' test', so I decided to check it out. This topic was started by a user going by the name of 'JesusFreak2559' (I may have the numbers wrong, but whatever). He goes on for some length with some "arguments" against atheism, most, if not all of which, I'm pretty sure I've seen debunked here. Now, I'm not quite the writer that some of you here are, but I decide to take a crack at it. I write this nice long rebuttal trashing this guys' "arguments" exposing them as crap, and when I go to post, I get the ol' "server not found" message. Turns out our company's internet connection went down, and I think I lost the whole thing! It really pisses me off, because I gave him a good lashing, using arguments that I've picked up from folks here, as well as a couple of my own. I felt good because others had tried to counter him, but were falling victim to him trying to change the topic slightly and avoiding the issue. He was arguing ID and something along the lines of "nature is too complex to have just happened by chance." (My paraphrasing there) Anyway, that asshat would have been ripped to shreds here, and if he's come to lurk he'd probably figure that out and not post here. I thought about pointing him here, but I'm too nice, since there are folks here who could dissect his "arguments" far better than I did (and I think I did a decent job). Some of you would have eaten this guy up and spit him out without breaking a sweat. It would have been viscous. Sorry, I guess this has turned into basically a rant, but if you want to go check it out you can (but you'll need either a Hotmail account or MS Passport account to register). |

Bummer about losing your post. Might I suggest cutting and pasting any lengthy posts (here or that group or anywhere) to a .txt or .rtf or .doc file before hitting the "Submit" button. You can always kill the file once it posts normally.

Yeah, of course I didn't think about that until after the connection was lost (and my response with it)!
![]() I'm gonna go double-check to see if maybe it got through, but I just was unable to see the update. *crosses fingers* |

We have all lost data.
At that time some asshole ALWAYS asks "didn't you back it up?" --J.D. No, PopeintheWoods, I am not calling you an asshole . . . just an general observation . . . like Douglas Adams' Ford Prefect rant about how humans state the obvious. |

http://www.ecclesia.org/truth/atheist.html If so, I do have a couple responses -- though they're humorous rather than intellectual, unless refuting an argument by "absurdizing" it is intellectual. Does that count, and if so, may I post them? Deacon Doubtmonger |
