I enjoy anal sex, but then I was having anal and oral sex long before I had vaginal sex. Is is over rated? I do not think so, but then I am not convinced that the actual experience has an especially high rating - there is just a lot of drive towards obtaining it because it is somewhat taboo or difficult to get. I would not describe it as better or worse than other types of sex, merely different.

Anyway, I enjoy giving and recieving, though what I have recieved (fingers, toys) has not been quite up to what I have been giving in terms of size. Still, if someone wanted to use something larger on me I would certainly consider it. If done properly, with patience, foreplay, and lubrication, pain is not an issue that comes up, and I can't say smell has ever been much of an issue either.

To each his own, but for me, a heterosexual male, I don't see much point in anal sex with a woman because, IMHO, there is already an opening there - warm, wet, soft...oh hell, anyway... - that is *designed* for penetration...so why use the other one there instead, unless the woman really, really enjoyed it...

As for prostrate stimulation on males (using my finger) ahem...yes, I have tried it on myself a very few times, but it's not something that I need to do durring sex (it just makes me come too quick anyway) and it's kinda weird and messy...and as someone with mild OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) I'm kinda turned off by...well...poop...but vagina/vulva related stuff doesn't bother me one bit...don't ask why...just me...

To be honest, I only first tried it because I was curious what it felt like to be penetrated...something that, while I do like being a male, I will always be curious about (and would try in some kind of VR if and when that is possible)...but that's just me...

Keep in mind some women may have a difficult if not impossible time achieving orgasm during vaginal intercourse. Anal sex is an option that they may chose to explore for those reasons and they may finally find out what the big sex houpla is all about. The cervix and lower utrine segment are filled w/nerve ends that may only receive stimulation via anal play. During vaginal intercourse only the cervix is directly stimulated. That may not be/probably isn't enough. The "g-spot" at the top of the vagianl canal remains a mystery to many women and trying to manuver for manual stimulation of the clitoris during intercourse is ..well that's a freaking joke unless a woman is flat on her back and doing it herself.
