Er, um, I think you might be confusing 'troll' with 'trawl' in this instance.

You are correct to associate 'Troll' with fishing however. Trolling is towing a line with either a bait or lure attached to entice the prey to strike. Trawling involves towing a net and is usually more productive.....

Perhaps we might call the better Trolls 'Trawlers'?
