Riiiiight, but then Jesus came and supposedly fixed that mess and yet the pains god inflicted on man for the way he created us still exist. God should do a better job sacrificing himself to himself next time. And perhaps he should've done something to save more than the gullible minority who can manage believe a particular set of ridiculous myths written by primitive anonymous goat-herders.

Perhaps god only cares about:
- The lazy (born into their religion and never think about it).
- The credulous (those that can believe such unbelievable bull).
- Mindless sheep (those that follow any thing some old dead guy wrote as long as they dead guy claimed god was talking to him).
- The brain damaged (self explanatory).
- etc. etc. I'll stop here as this is probably offensive.

Knowing that you are a theist, perhaps you could provide an answer to a question for me regarding this statement:

Quote:
I just wanted to say I don't see the relevance to the fact that free will as such is not in the Bible. There are many doctrines that many Christians have that are not in the Bible and that does not make them somehow unChristian for anyone except Biblical literalists...
Now, I assume that what you are talking about is interpretations, correct? Now, I've made this argument several times before to others without reply, perhaps you could answer this for me. What makes the interpretation that the Bible is nothing more than a fictional story book any less valid that the interpretations of the various xtian denominations? What seperates ours and makes it the absolute "wrong" interpretation? Why is the credibility of this statement muted to xtians? Why is our interpretation not considered as valid as the christian ones?

Hmm, do not result to simple distortion of of the text. They did not eat the fruit to "be like gods". Eve simply ate the fruit to gain the knowledge of good and evil "like God", and it is not perfectly clear why Adam eats the fruit. "God" himself gives no prior warning as to what consumption of the fruit would cause, except that they would "surely die". Would they have eaten the fruit had they known? The text states that they were deceived (as to the accounts of both Adam and Eve; Eve by the serpent and Adam by Eve).

Further, can you contest that the desire to "be like gods" is an objectively evil desire?

"When you eat it, you will be like gods, and know what is good and what is bad." Genesis 3:5

"I am the LORD your God who brought you out of Egypt, where you were slaves. Worship no god but me." Exodus 20:2-3

You have a different text than I.

But, for the second part...

Quote:
"I am the LORD your God who brought you out of Egypt, where you were slaves. Worship no god but me." Exodus 20:2-3
Are we disregarding the word worship?

Please let us know when you are starting to display stigmata.
On the other hand , you might concentrate your energy into usefull things such as voluntary helper in homes for the elderly or in an hospital.
It will help you as well.

Yes, Gemma.
Before "...man sinned.", God created man, then "...man sinned.".

So, God created a man who sinned, after God deemed His creation as "...very good." (Genesis 1.31).
That's the contradiction.
