And I do believe I have just written the Battle of Britian scene for the special edition DVD

There is a hand connected to somebody off camera flying a Boeing jumbo jet model around and making airplane noises while pretending to drop bombs on a stack of Canadian money (all with the Queen's face up). Cut to British Pub

British Guy 1: I dare say Reginald, those German boys are quite the uncouth chaps, hmm?

British Guy 2: Mmm. Yes. Uncouth.

British Guy 1: Dear me, I would pip that those gents have no intention of a good sporting time.

British Guy 2: Mm. Bloody good shame.

British Guy 1: Those RAF chums will certainly endevour the score, what what.

British Guy 2: Mmm, yes, indeed.

Cut to stock footage of two RAF fighters in the air. Cut to RAF Pilot 1 talking over the radio, who has a tobacco pipe in his mouth and a pilot's helmet on

RAF Pilot 1: Say Nigel, t'is there a cricket game on tonight?

RAF Pilot 2's voice: I dread not good chap.

RAF Pilot 1: Well bugger that. Cricket is a jolly sport.

RAF Pilot 2's voice: Quite. Ripping good time.

RAF Pilot 1: Mm.

He takes a puff of his pipe

RAF Pilot 1: Dear me, it appears some of those "aero"planesmen are approching

RAF Pilot 2's voice: Indeed.

Stock footage of dogfight for about 15 seconds

RAF Pilot 1: Cheerio and all that rot, let us hence home. Nearly time for tea and crumpets, innit?

RAF Pilot 2's voice: I do believe so

RAF Pilot 1: Jolly good.

Thumbs down

So... December 7, 1941 comes after April 30, 1945? In fact, the entire Pacific theater gets short shrift. Not to mention North Africa. And then there's this...

Quote:
Emperor Hirohito: Ah so, most honourabre Hitrer so velly evir indeed. Japan agrees most honourabry to defend youl nashon
If your stereotypical Japanese (buck-toothed & nearsighted, I imagine) lack the ability to say 'L' sounds, then what's up with "velly" and "youl"?

Ah, but it's OK to stereotype the Germans as using "Z" everywhere? As you note, "buck-toothed & nearsighted I imagine". How can you fault OxMat for your imagined stereotype?

OxMat:

Slightly reordered, but :notworthy none the less.

My only problem is with the frenchman. It seems like you are really trying to hard and not putting any thought into it. "I don't take showers" um... ok.

Even disregarding the sillyness of the stereotypes used, you shouldn't use modern stereotypes (french dont' shower, french hate americans) for a play set in the 1940s.

I mean unless you are gonna be consistant and talk about how the japanese have lots of cell phones and geramns are rude tourists.

If you think I give half a quarter of a shit about which scene goes where then choke on your food and die. Do I look like the fucking History channel? Look, I didn't say to that god damned cherry machine "The hell with you, I'm going to write a TEN mintue historically accurate la de da play on WW2". No, I did not.

And I think the stereotypes are nicely fleshed out because I saved just that much time not having to actually learn about any other culture from mine. And I evened out the japanese stereotype, now Emperor Hirohito drives really slowly with his blinker on.

And Hitler wears lederhosen.

So there.

Maybe that's a clever part of the satire, as some of the Yanks seem to forget about us in that particular war.
