Two. Canada and Mexico. I didn't count the US either, since I live here.

Now I feel a little depressed. Meanies!

I've been around a bit. I'm predicting that the Brits and Aussies will have the most under their belt while Americans will have the fewest. When I was backpacking in Australia and New Zealand, by far the most common backpacker nationality I ran into were Brits. I met far, far more fellow Canadians backpacking over there compared to Americans. Americans, in general, don't like traveling internationally.

I've been to:

Canada
USA
Mexico
New Zealand
Australia
UK
Norway

A lot of Brits and Canadians visit Australia on the Working Holiday Visa programme. This scheme allows young people from certain countries to live and work in Australia for up to a year. The US is not a part of this programme, so most Americans would only be able to visit on a tourist visa, which I guess would make it too expensive for most people.

I'd agree though that in general you tend to see a lot more Canadians backpacking than Americans. Of course, they're easy to spot with the ubiquitous maple leaf patches on their backpacks.
