Maybe try that link again, or if it's the done thing on this board, post your article (I know, it's not the same as seeing it under the masthead).
For anyone writing letters to the editor, 300 words is generally the maximum, and not your target. Think about someone trying to lay out the letters page - it's a lot easier to squeeze in a few 50-75 word letters than one 300-word mini-essay. So unless you are personally the subject of the article you are responding to, to get published you should take your one, best point (preferably the one that makes your target look like a moron), and sandwich it between a reference to the original article and a witty closing. Works for me every time. |

never been there: Fixed the link. Geesh, tripod is so picky. I printed the 300 word article I submitted on this thread. I linked the printed article because of a couple changes added.
As for making my target look like a moron, he is a member of the church, so there is no way in heck I'm getting published by making him look like a moron. I was sneaky. I denied the relevence of Christianity for the more applicable and saving actions for humanity. They bought it. Nothing like passing on the Humanistic Creed under the guise of Christianity. And no, you won't see Jimmy Higgins having written the article, that's just a handle. I do have a real name. |
