Interesting. I agreed with the majority (even slight ones) on all but one question.

I can imagine a situation where I accidentally damage property and do not confess... not for somebody's car, as was the example. It would depend on the extent of the damage, and the possiblity of finding the owner (with taking action becoming more likely as the former goes up and less likely as the later goes up.)

On the other hand, that quiz doesn't tell you crap about how ethical you are... since ethics implies some attempt to systematize those single-issue responses. And I can't imagine peoples' rantings to a website in some vain effort to purge their guilty conscience would make me more ethical... "Dude, there are people who've really done that? Well what am I waiting for?"

When I went there, I was honestly expecting a one-question quiz, to wit:
Quote:
"Do you believe yourself to be a sinner in the sight of God, justly deserving his displeasure, and without hope except for his sovereign mercy?"

Yes. No.

I'm with Monkeybot - those questions were ridiculous, and I told them so in that little box they have for suggestions. I wouldn't be too happy about using that website at any level, let alone university level. I don't blame you for being angry.

ROFLMAO at Amos' confession...

But kidding aside, Geez Louise, Bree, WTF? "About SINS"? And some of the questions on that quiz.... give me a break. This is beyond bizzare...

Oh, Jeez. When you see the word "ever," you know the quiz is in trouble. Just like on my driver's test, I get too involved in the potential complexity and nuance of each question.

For instance, "Would you ever not return change from a vendor that gave you more than you were due?" When did I realize I got extra change? At the register, in the car, at home a week later? How much was it?

"Would you ever have sex with someone other than your spouse while you are married?" If it was an open marriage or polyamorous relationship which cannot be legally recognized, sure! What if my husband has been in an irreversible coma for ten years?

As for using pirated software or listening to mp3s, I wouldn't really feel bad doing it if I would not otherwise buy the product in question, because the damage to the owner is zero.

And I can't believe the pornography question. What could be unethical about porn (assuming participants can and do consent)? In the words of Penn Jillette, "Naked people are their own reward."

What school do you go to, Bree?! Man, I don't know how you hang in there. I would have dropped out and become homeless by this point.

That quiz was such a waste of time. I answered all of the questions as honestly as I could, and then what the hell was I supposed to do with that result?! It didn't give any score or any usefull information. Who cares what percentage of other people answered what way? LAME!

The quiz link is still up. You need to follow the link at the bottom of the page. Good for a laugh, hope we didn't offend the rest of your classmates, Bree.

OK, maybe hoping just a teensy little bit.

I am going to confess that I burned down an entire village.
