Well, yeah. Look at Ventura. Certainly not the best governor in history, but surprisingly not half bad. Certainly not riddled with corruption like his Repubocrat opponents.

However, running California will be on another order of magnitude. Something like 1/8 Americans live in California. It's an enormous state with a huge range of economic and social activity. It won't be a cakewalk to be in charge of it.
