Default wow, I feel at home.

New member here, just signed up yesterday after looking around for a bit. But I just want to say that it feels good to find a place were people seem to feel and think the way I do.

Long live the freethinkers.

"Freethinker" is inherently contradictory if it is a standardized phrase.

Hello, for what it's worth.

Nocturn:
Welcome!

I have to say i think II keeps me sane sometimes (however some of the things i learn here really get me heated up, but then I realize i'm reading the CSS forum and go have a drink.)

Living in the south US, where they want to paint "God Bless America" on the top of the Superdome, and there's a prayer group that meets in the capital, to pray for the legislators during session... it's pretty rough. Not too many freethinkers around here :/

Thank the atheists in foxholes that this board is here!!
cheers!
faust.

Lol, faust, I know all about that. I live in what must be one of the most uptight conservative suburbs around houston. You'l have to excusee my newbieness, but whats the CSS board? I liked the story of faust, it was one of the few book that interested me last year.

Welcome to the board Nocturn. I'm just getting my feet wet after having an account here for so long....long story.

By CSS board I think faust means the Church/State Separation board up there in the II Philosophical Discussion boards. If you're into church/state separation issues, as most American atheists are, you might want to browse through the threads up there.

Welcome to II, Nocturn!

I felt the same way when I first found this sight a few months ago. Damn fine people and quite a refuge when you're feeling overwhelmed and surrounded by fundies.
