Default When do you browse the IIDB forums?

I'm curious... I feel like I spend an awful lot of time on the infidels forums, yet I know that a lot of people spend far more time than I do on the boards (at least, they post far more messages). I'm curious as to when different people find time to browse the boards.

Me, I do it at work mostly. As a programmer, I'll often go off in a fury of coding, and then sit back and wait for the code to compile. At that point, I'll "quickly" check the boards, more often than not spending far more time than it takes for my code to compile.

How about you?

Right now, I have way too much free time at work, but there are periods when I am too busy to check for days at a time! Lately, I swear I am on the boards enough hours of the day to read every thread that gets started.

None of the categories apply to me...

Im a student, but sadly lack a WLAN card (as well as a laptop). That, and I loathe my 56k line at home. Therefore, I browse/post on the IIDB primarily from my university's computer labs, where I am currently situated.

Yay, 300th post!

During my internship, I'll check II when I have free time and I'm bored at work. But this Friday is the last day of the internship so, I'll have a whole lot more free time but I'm also a props master for Children of Lesser God at Raleigh Little Theatre and I've also been recruited as a interpreter for the play. Since I'll be back in Greensboro till I find an apartment in the triangle area, that means commuting between Greensboro and Raleigh. Bleh, but the work is fun I doubt I'll find that much time to visit II boards except in the morning.

Yay my 800th post!

When my love of intellectual stimulation, theological controversy, and jihads of the tongue and hand outweigh my distaste for the sheer foreignness between the stripped-down worldview provided by skepticism and the completeness of polytheistic supernaturalism.

And I work, but thankfully I get by with a work week of only 15 hours. Though I may have to look for a new job if I don't master the pointless skill of shaving my face--something I am unable to do well and opposed to having to do at all.

I used to usually just browse at work, but I've gotten into more stimulating threads that I want to continue from home, so I'm on at both times.

Plus I'm an Evil Moderator now, and need to continue my IIDB domination plans, so I need to come on more often.

I tend to view IIDB whenever my boss isn't around. He sits behind me and can see everything I do on my computer so I have to be veeeewy veeeewy qwiet.

It's funny, I've noticed lately that the more money you make, and/or the higher you are in the corporate structure, the more likely you are to have time to goof off at work. Poor people with shitty jobs (like me) don't have a chance to browse at work, and if we don't look busy every minute we're on the clock you get a nice long talk with the boss. I have to wait till I get home to indulge.

Ya know, I think you might be right. Although, I don't know if it's necessarily that the higher-up the job, the more goof-off time. I think in general, the causation might be more like:
  • The less time you've worked, the less money you're likely to make.
  • The less time you've worked, the lower the position you're likely to have.
  • The longer you've worked, the more money you're likely to make.
  • The longer you work, as well, the higher the position you're likely to have.
  • But the longer you work, the less you care about doing work, and in fact the more you hate doing work.
  • Thus, the longer you've worked, the less work you actually do.
