leonarde:

I don't think it was the actual number of responses that Jack was complaining about. I think it has more to do with the quality of the answers and the particular selection of questions that aren't answered.

I thought and still think that the post about God stopping the terrorist airplane is more clever than your post.
I wasn't trying to be clever, as some poor jokesters have here tried to do.

Ah yes. Why doesn't God just reach down and pluck hijacked airplanes out of the sky? Gosh I never wondered things like that (until I was 5 anyway). Makes you wonder though. Why doesn't he whisper in pilots ears they have bare wires in fuel tanks? Why does he let engineers even make mistakes?

Yeah, and why does he let people make or buy guns and shoot each other Barring that, why doesn't he just place his hand over the end of the Maryland sniper's barrel? Why doesn't he simply drop a note with the sniper's address in the police chief's car?

Aren't these clever? I think you guys are on to something here.

Exactly Radorth:
given that 'God' is defined in the Bible, then why?

Answer: 'God' is not defined in the Bible.

Why don't we get real childish and start arguing over which super hero can beat up which super hero. If YHWY, Jupiter, Mazda and Athena walked into a bar what drinks would they order?

How did this thread degenerate into this stupid crap about the hand of God snatching airplanes out of the sky?
Let's get back to the Biblical contradictions that are in the texts.

When?

Remember, this is about establishing when there are Biblical contradictions, and a few were shown here.

This started as a response to the following.

Posted by Radorth
"One would think sceptics would note when God does something to prevent slavery and injustice, but they never do for some reason. They only seem to note when he encourages it.

So lemme see if I can grasp the point. If there was a plane about to hit a building with 20,000 people in it, a Christian F-16 pilot should do what exactly?"

The above is a false anology, it asks what a Christian should do, not an omnipotent God.

This is somewhat off topic, because it is pointing out contradictions in theology, not necessarily scripture.

Should we start a thread about God countering an immoral act by humans with an immoral act of his own? Specificaly, was it moral for God to free slaves by killing children, when he clearly could have done something else?
