I'm not sure what classification I would fit into, but the idea of being one of the 'old' gods appeals to me for some reason. In my creation, there would be no moral standard for humankind to follow, but I would stand as the judge and encourage humanity towards 'good'. There would be no post-life torment, and I would fulfill each person's wish for their afterlife - be it ceasing to exist, going back as another human, being an 'angel' or just hanging out with me until the end of time.

I don't know, I could have fun with this... one of the main things I'd stress, however, is that 'evil' is a fundamental part of nature, and that people should learn to recognize and deal with it (maybe even deal *in* it) Summary: anything goes, but I have the last word and you can't do a damn thing about it.

If someone asked me if I was a god, I would say "yes."

50 points for guessing the reference

Cool

IF I was God, I could "clean" up this world of Humans like what God did with the Dinosaurs and make room for more intelligent and more peaceful species like dolphins, whales or even chimps, then step aside and watch them evolve.

If they end up like humans (hopefully not, but their genetics seems to show that they are more peaceful-type (except maybe Chimps) than a warmongers like humans) then its another clean up time with another species to take it place.

I'd be like Ares from Xena. Really just a guy who's immortal, and can teleport and throw fireballs.

I would be the perpetual and completely natural Universe ~ limitlessly propelling all things, including humans and their subsequent narcissistic, anthropocentric and nonsensical conceptualizations of God.

Then I would incarnate as Ronin on an internet bulletin board and generally just fuck around.

Mission accomplished, I think.

I know this answer already, because I have experience with this.

I would pick a few favorites and have them live lives of luxury, and then I'd make little nothing people wearing leiderhosen who would live in haunted houses and spend their night wetting their pants and crying, and their days fighting with each other and starting fires.

I would create charming serial killers who walk around in Speedos and purchase celebratory bags of potato chips with the proceeds they receive selling each newly murdered wife's remains, and I would create little photo albums documenting their their lives and loves.

I'd definitely be a D&D-variety deity, preferrably one I customized myself.

As for the pre-existing deities, Erythnul (the god of hate, envy, malice, panic, ugliness, and slaughter) sounds like an interesting-enough role to keep me entertained.

That Q in Star Trek TNG had some cool powers.

I don't think I could actually want to be a god though. If I was a lesser god, then a bossy mightier god would still be over me somewhere and if I was the boss god then there's just sooo much responsibility. Who wants to be responsible for the human race?

Now that I think about it I'd be the God of all Animals and avoid people. Except to eat them.

A fun thing to do might be to try be a God of Gaps. Rules as follows:

1. Start out with a bunch of primitive people and do random stuff to them (lightings, floods, talking animals, whatever comes to your mind).

2. When humans invent rules to explain the phenomena, create small demons that stick to these rules, no matter how ridiculous (such as "sun moves in a chariot on the sky" or "rivers flow downstream").

3. Create a vicious flying razorblade to resolve the disputes between the demons. When the rules enforced by two demons contradict, the razor slashes the demon with more complicated rule to nonexistence.

4. Keep inventing new ridiculous stuff (cells, molecules, atoms, quarks,...), but do not contradict the existing demons. The game ends when either humans figure out that you are just messing with them, or you get bored.
