I would even venture to say that if it is made after 1980, its probably bad. Music from 70/60 could rock the 80's any day.

Oh, I agree, but it there were still some acts in the '80s that rocked. Rush, Blue Oyster Cult, Pink Floyd...

I take it you're 20 years older than me? (I was born in 1973.) That would explain our respective tastes in music - you grew up in a different era.

I listen to quality music of any era. Stravinsky, Wagner, Tchaikovsky...
