No, God does not sit in Hell torturing you. The torment comes from being separated from God.
If Heaven is to be with God, and Hell is to be separted from him, where is God in relation to us humans living on Earth? I'm not feeling any particular hellish torment or heavenly bliss right now...

Well, only the Holy Ghost is here now. God has 100% Heaven power and 0% Hell power; the Ghost is about 25/75, or maybe 10/90.

The division of the two. The good on Earth comes from God and Heaven, and the evil, pain and suffering comes from Satan and sin. Basically a spiritual battle between God and Satan, Heaven and Hell - with the Earth being the battle ground. God and angels fight for our salvation, Satan and the "fallen" angels fight for our destruction.

So, Magus, what does being seperated from God feel like?

You see, people can't take you seriously if they don't have an idea of what kind of torment you're threatening them with. I haven't heard much description of this seperation except for it feeling very, very bad.

You can imagine how most of us would find this account . . . lacking.

So, since you as a True Christian know exactly which bits of you are godly and which aren't, you must surely be able to tell us how one would feel with the godly bits missing.

If god is all-that, omnipotent master of the universe and what-not, why didn't he just kick Satan's ass a long time ago instead of letting him muck about on earth all this time?

(BTW, the Job portrayal of God and Satan's chummy relationship seems to cast some doubt on your "battle ground" scenario.)

Why, good heavens (so to speak) Earl, you mean to say that you don't know where Lucifer and the war in Heaven come from? They are part of Roman Catholic tradition. Odd Magus that didn't tell you that.

Wow, must be tricky to fight against an omnipotent being while being chained in the lake of fire. But, seeing what a bang up job Satan is doing, I'm wondering who's really in charge.

Don't know where the name Lucifer actually came from ( maybe the RCC) - his name is irrelevant though. Call him Bob if you want.

The accounts of the fallen angels:

2Pe 2:4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast [them] down to hell, and delivered [them] into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

Jude 6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Rev 12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

Rev 12:8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

Rev 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Mat 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
