And your really naive if you think you will be partying with Satan, celebrating your rejection of God. Hell is punishment. Its never ending torment in darkness. There is no fun to be had in Hell. You gave up everything good in this world when you rejected God. But since that is what you want, God will let you go there. He isn't gonna force you to be in Heaven when you don't want to.
Was another point being missed. I don't belive in any of that stuff and consider the simple concept of hell to be sufficient proof that gods were created in the image of men. Oh, and you never answered my question about masochists. Would god send them to hell if they enjoyed it there? I take it you aren't a fan of George Carlin, he's got some interesting things to say on the issue...

I don't think there is any human on earth that could enjoy Hell, masochist or not.

And yet you seem to get a lot of pleasure talking about it. You appear to be almost obsessed with the topic, and gleeful at the thought of people you don't like being sent there. What do you find to be the most appealing aspect of the idea of hell?

Far be it from me to delve too deeply into Magus' psyche, but I'm guessing that the thing he likes most about hell is the fact that everyone who disagrees with him will be spending eternity in it while he gets to laugh and say 'I told you so'... or so he hopes.

For the last time, reply to the OP or not at all. Magus, your theology is only relevant insofar as it pertains to Haylow's notion of an indifferent deity. As replies to anyone else on this thread, your disquisitions on hell and its dark lord are nothing but opportunistic derailments. Everyone else, any futher puerile cheapshots will result in this thread being locked.

Thank you,

Really why would God care, he/she/it is the allmighty and can do anything, if i die he/she/it will just create me again from the point of my death if we destroy the planet it can just create a new one for us, all this = eternity
Your basic premise is that god doesn't care, so...

It doesn't matter if you worship god or not. He doesn't care.

He will not create you again or create a new planet if it is destroyed. He doesn't care.

He does not love you, or hate you. He doesn't care.

In fact, I don't know how your god could have created anything in the first place, if he doesn't care.

Your god is pointless.

An uncaring, indifferent God who has spent the last 14 billion years sucking up some brewsky in a heavenly bar somewhere is a deistic God.

Are all you atheists telling me you have suddenly turned into deists? Is that the point of this thread? If so you have pleasantly surprised me.

A deist can quite easily become a theist you know. You are just talking about variations of belief in a God of some kind.

Sigh.

When Atheists on this board say that there is no god so many Theists flip out. When Atheists speak of god's actions and inactions and the contradictions inherent in them they are speaking rhetorically. Were we to preface every rhetorical remark with, "of course there is no god, but if there were he" some Theist would take exception every time.
If an Atheist becomes a Deist I'm sure that they will let you know. But unless otherwise noted if an Atheist says "god did this or that and has this that and the other attribute" they are only speaking rhetorically.

Haylow's belief is indeed tantamount to deism. How do you deduce from this fact that all the other contributors to this thread are deists too?

A deist cannot become a theist because a deist IS a theist. Therefore an atheist cannot possibly be a deist.
