Amit,
As we had Makar Sankranthi celebrations the last few days (we call it Pongal followed by locally organized Bull fights) I could not answer you. So here we are once again. Galileo lied not because he wanted to make a killing profit by selling telescopes. But we have enough documentary evidence to suggest he was involved in his quest for truth, working for te progress of our knowledge. So Galileo as far as I can see, is presented to our impressions as a venerable old man of Science tortured for truth and he stood his ground despite his public repentance. The fact that he rejected his science in public so that he could still work for the cause of it in silence makes him even more venerable. (Or just read a few sentences (just a few sentences ) Hawking says on Galileo in his Brief hisory of Time and see if you donot get an impression of a persecuted saint in Galileo. Also see the numerous plays on Galileo that are available worldwide. You donot see in them an image of Galileo the 'pargmatist' but Galileo an idealist, almost a martyr. Now in spirit same is the case with Veer Savarkar. Further can you show atleast a few quotes from Hinduthva that talk of Hindus as being racially superior to others? On the otherhand I can give you quotes from Veer Savarkar's Hinduthva a) rejecting racism as unscientific and irrational b) repeating 'all humanity is one from pole to pole' c) call for intermarraiges breaking the 'man made barriers which your prophets have bulit' which 'crumble before the strength of sexual attraction of nature' What is supramacist about it or Nazi like or Fascist? Given the Congress idea of secularism which meant 'three votes for Muslims and one vote for Hindus', given the proclaimed Government policy of Indian state 'prefernce to youths of minority religions (Mulsim and Christian ) in bank loans' etc. perhaps even the above principles may be seen Fascist. We both are conducting the same experiment but it is for me " you have engineered the riot " but for you the same actions constitute it seems, "trying to promote harmony ". However it is interesting to see that you have concluded even before the hypothetical experiment takes off that ,it would result in riots And it is easy to understand who would start the riots and why. No need for experiments Amit you just proved in the forum what I wanted to prove for all to see. And as an added bonus you also said that 'I engineered the riots' showing how strong the pseudo-secularist logic is. (Here our Sudalai temple is located next to some orthodox Brahmin houses who are vegetarians. But in the last ten years we never had a riot.) And even in Gujarat where communal disturbances (words of Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam) did happen last year of the people the police under BJP govt. shot dead >80% were Hindus according to a renowned Marxist monthly. And Amit what about Hindus killed by Christian terrorists and Christian fundamentalist secessionists in North East? |

Charming Pee Pee Poodle, really charming picture. Of course such a picture in a serious discussion would increase the siege mentality of Hindus even more.
