Default Sad news from Singapore

The Iranian twins have both died;

Raffles Hospital regrets to announce that the Bijani twins, Ladan and Laleh, have both passed away during surgery to separate them," the hospital said. "The twins lost a lot of blood and were in a critical situation as the surgery was coming to an end."

Ladan, the more outspoken twin, had wanted to lead a separate life as a lawyer in her home town of Shiraz, while Laleh said before the operation she wanted to be a journalist in Tehran. Both held degrees in law.

That's a really sad situation. I was pulling for these two to make it through.

Hopefully, the doctors learned enough during the procedure so that they will be able to be more successful the next time through.

That's so sad.

I wasn't really expecting them to make it, considering the risks, but I was really, really hoping that they would.

I saw that on the news this morning. I was pushing for them. They seemed like sweet and intelligent women.

Yes, I heard last night on the news & had been following the surgery almost hour by hour. Very sad, right up to the last hours all indications were promising. I gather all Teheran is in mourning today.

heard about it yesterday, terribly sad, but they were determined and knew the risks. I really do wish it had worked out, not only for them but the experience and knowledge gained from this procedure could have helped other conjoined twins, especially if at least one of them had survived.
