Thumbs down Moderator Dangin is Out of Control on a Thread

I went out of my way to make a thoughtful and interesting thread about teen modeling sites. Knowing the subject of teenage girls can be prone to overzealous, irrational reactions, I even came here to get guidance on how exactly to make the thread so that it would not violate any rules or be subject to unfair censorship.

I followed those rules, but my thread has been under constant siege and attack from a number of moderators -- mainly by Dangin. Dangin closed the thread after only a few posts. Writer@Large quickly over-road that decision and reopened the thread. But it wasn't long before Dangin was back, making personal attacks on me, threatening to close the thread again, and basically raising so much hell that a decent conversation was not possible.

I urge everyone to read this thread from beginning to end and see the type of attacks, name-calling, and trolling that certain MODERATORS have been doing on this thread...

Teen Model Thread

Moderators are supposed to keep things sane around here, not cause trouble. In fact, the moderating has gotten so illogical, emotional, irrational and out of hand that this photo (below) was censored...

Can anyone justify censoring that photo (not allowing me to post it)?

All I ask for is the just and fair application of the forum rules.

As an admin *and* and M&PC Mod, I've been watching that thread. The only time I've had a problem with dangin's moderating, I stepped in and reopened the thread. Dangin was quite right when he said:

For purposes of this discussion, post links, not pictures.

This picture is not from a teen model website, it is from freekin PEOPLE magazine...

Give me one good, logical, fair reason under the forum rules why that photo cannot be posted?

Here's one:

"To participate in our online forums, you must agree to abide by our rules and policies. We encourage active debate and free speech, but remember you are our guest here. Civil and ethical conduct are required. To this end, you agree that, if asked, you will yield to the requests of the forum moderators and/or administrators. "

The above is from the Forum Rules and Policies that you agreed to when you signed up to post here. You were told by the Admins and Mods to post links, not pictures, in that thread. So don't.

You were asked to do so by the administration and various moderators when discussing such topics. Need I remind you of one of our rules?

Genghis Pwn, you were asked to post links, not photos. Yet you posted the photo. My impression is that your only goal here is to see how far you can stretch the rules before you break them. It's not a fun game from our point of view and we will not put up with that game for long.

I suggest that you listen harder when the Moderators and Administrators ask something of you.

Because one of the rules asks people to not violate copyright - generally with photographs the image is the entire bit of intelluctual property, and it is difficult to extract a portion of it under the "fair use" clauses in international copyright laws. You should link to a copyrighted image, and preferably to the site that holds the copyright on the image (since the image might have been pirated by some other site) or to a site that holds permission to post the image from the copyright holder. This is the same concept as asking people to not quote an entire article, but instead to extract small sections, and link to the copyrighted work.

Just because you don't understand the moderator's action doesn't mean there isn't a good reason for it.

1) Michael, if people are prohibited from posting pictures here such as the ones I posted of Princess Charlotte (from family-friendly magazines), and those copyright rules are equally enforced across this forum, then of course I accept that as a 100% valid reason.

2) I was told not to post pictures from teen modeling sites. No one can honestly say that the picture I posted of Princess Charlotte attending an public opera in full formal clothing is the same thing? No one told me I could not post pictures AT ALL, nor am I aware that the forum rules forbid the posting of pictures. I was told not to post "questionable" pictures from teen modeling sites. I followed that order.

Again, I truly feel that I am being singled out for unfair censorship, though I have tried my best to follow the rules.
