BTW, according to modern physics, even cosmogenesis is subject to physical law!
What physical laws? We don't yet understand "cosmogenesis" well enough to understand what "laws" apply or don't apply there. Further, earlier you said "laws of thermodynamics." Demonstrate where modern physics claims the "laws of thermodynamics" apply to cosmogenisis. God, however, as the transcendent creator, is not... Talk about an unproven assertion. That statement includes several of them, actually: 1) god exists; 2) god is the transcendant creator; and 3) god is not subject to physical laws. [ October 16, 2002: Message edited by: Mageth ]</p> |

Mr. Kingjames1,
Just because you are a simple weak man, incapable of living without the crutch of a system of fantasy and simplistic morality, does not mean that others are like you. It is a classic falacious argument made by you theists, that those who are capable of living their lives free from religious illusions are somehow out of control and live hedonistic miserable lives. Nonsense! It is you theists, who cling to your simplistic metaphysical other-world, who are personally out of control. You are weak and live your life under the command of demagogues. Your religion is a prison of your mind and you live your life clinging to the unreachable hand of an illusion. |

I think kingjames1 got the ball rolling with his "...it is my suspicion that the reason so many atheists are clueless regarding the logical implications of their supposedly simple "lack of belief," is that they are too intellectually lazy to consider the consequences."

My sum up:
"It'd be just like any other myth, if we weren't always told that it was somehow special." |

Why should I try to make a summary when Mark Twain already did in his "Letters from the Earth"?
"[The Bible] is full of interest. It has noble poetry in it; and some clever fables; and some blood-drenched history; and some good morals; and a wealth of obscenity; and upwards of a thousand lies." Mike Rosoft |
