Default "I'll be judge and jury": The New World Order

Quote:
US push for global police force

The United States would train and lead an international police force, bypassing traditional peacekeeping bodies such as the United Nations and NATO, under a proposal by the Defence Secretary, Donald Rumsfeld.
.....
"I am interested in the idea of our leading, or contributing to in some way, a cadre of people in the world who would like to participate in peacekeeping or peacemaking," Mr Rumsfeld told defence industry leaders in Washington last week.
.......
it would keep a small number of US forces in peacekeeping, it would aim to enlist other countries to contribute the vast majority of troops, with the promise that they would be trained and organised by the US.
......
The proposal comes as Australia announced that it was ready to send 2000 troops, police and government officials to rebuild the Solomons.

It also coincides with a heated debate over the merits of the UN system, with Mr Downer saying that such bodies often produced "ineffective and unfocused policy involving internationalism of the lowest common denominator"
Such plans taken in conjunction with the current USA's attitude towards other operations may well cause some justifiable concern.

I wonder if this will tie into the Academy of the Americas that the Pentagon operated for years training guerillas to fight "leftist" in S America.

Considering the distrust and outright hatred of the US by the people of the world I wonder if many Democratically elected officials would risk loosing power by supplying troops for this program.

This sucks. It seems we are trying to get other countries to pony up bodies to continue our policies over seas while our troops are withdrawn, I can only imagine, for incidents that may need more man power. Say an invasion of another country? Thanks for the article Gurdur. Yes I read it.

Speaking of the school of the assasins wasn't it a habit or practice of their's to have police units in towns the army couldn't be in to carry out there practices of law enforcement?
