I sometimes get sulphur-crested cockatoos in the yard. Now, they are LOUD!

And it's not a chirping noise, or anything that could possibly be construed as "song". No, it's a screeching noise...over and over and over...

I live on the coast. We have seagulls. Sometimes they screech like cats fighting. Sometimes they scream like a child crying. However, I have lived here for nearly 2 years, and I sleep through it all now.

I live in an urban concrete area with bright security and street lights on all night, but with a few trees that attract birds. The lights confuse the birds, and I sometimes am aware of some confused birdbrain singing at 2 am outside my window.

i understand your pain. We have a lemon tree outside my window, and every time it fruits <and there are shitloads of fruit> it is *covered* in cockatoos. Theres the constant screeching and the occasional *thunk* as they drop a lemon on the roof.

for the next three weeks, i can find 3 streets away the remains of the lemons from my backyard. And they are my lemons too, i can tell.

You should hear my African Grey mimicing a mockingbird. Very funny. He also does a Touhy (Too Weee) and a Chickadee (Chick-a-dee-dee-dee) so perfectly, that the wild birds sit around my yard and talk to him every afternoon.

I used to live in a complex that was infested with grackles. They make the most bizarre squeaky-hinge noise. And they started very early every day. Now I'm only infested with starlings. It's a little scary that the tremendous starling noise is a step up.
