No, actually these gods are motivated enough and smart enough that, since the 18th century, they've been about equally as powerful as the notorious Yahweh.
Basically, I figure that if every successful religion has gods behind it, naturalism must too. (That should not be construed as thinking that naturalism literally is a religion.) |

This thread made me think of a Neil Gaiman book I read a couple of months ago. If you haven't read "American Gods" , I very much recommend it.
If you have, I'd like to know what you thought of it. |

I haven't read American Gods, but I will sooner or later. I get that a lot--my belief system reminds someone of that book, I mean.

I've been tearing the house apart for two days now trying to find my copy of "Neverwhere" for my wife to read. I've a feeling I lent it to someone... stupid, old brain, not remembering nothin' nohow.

God of atheism? Poor dude, he's probably the laughing stock of his pantheon... I'd worship the guy just for pity, if given evidence of his existence of course. But that would probably disqualify me.

Then s/he is a damn powerful god... I mean, who knows--- is this like Illuminati? Each god choses his/her own way of being worshipped? Yahweh chose blood, the Non-Existant One chose profession of non-faith? |
